Bone loss can occur in older adults when they lose weight. The purpose of this study is to find ways to minimize that bone loss. Some study volunteers will take weekly alendronate for 52 weeks. Alendronate is a medication that prevents bone breakdown. It has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis in older men and women.

The purpose of this study is to test the effects of an online weight management program. Volunteers will use a weight management app on their phone. They will attend weekly workshops and weekly check-ins online using Zoom. Volunteers will also wear a continuous glucose monitor during the study.
