Neurology and Neurosurgery Research Studies
Our team of physicians can provide the best tests and treatments available to patients because of our commitment to research, which helps us learn more about the brain, nervous system and neurological disorders.
The nervous system is complex. Our research goal is simple – find new and better ways to improve patient health.
Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is home to one of the largest neurosciences programs in the region. We are nationally recognized for our expertise in a range of complex neurological conditions. However, our neurology teams are doing more than just treating patients; they are shaping the future treatment for conditions like spinal disorders, epilepsy, movement disorders and strokes.
We will continue to teach the importance of research to the next generation of neurologists. Without research, we would not be able to discover new treatments and ways to prevent and manage diseases and conditions and make an impact in our community and beyond.
Why you should enroll in a research study
- Study volunteers enrolled in a clinical study receive an extra layer of medical care with frequent follow up and progress assessments
- Study volunteers participating in clinical trials may achieve better outcomes than those not enrolled in a study
- Access to the latest treatments long before they may become widely available
- As a result of your own experience or that of a loved one, you may want to shape the future of health care for yourself and others
