    About This Study

The purpose of this study is to learn if carboplatin can work as well as cisplatin for treating germ cell tumors while causing fewer long-term side effects, such as hearing loss and kidney damage. Volunteers in the study will receive one of the two treatment options by chance so researchers can compare the results. This study is for volunteers diagnosed with a germ cell tumor that has not been fully removed, has spread, or has elevated tumor markers.
