About This Study
The urethra is a thin tube-like structure that allows urine to leave your bladder. Urethral stricture is a narrowing of the urethra that affects the flow of urine out of your bladder. The purpose of this study is to find out if an engineered urethra made from your own cells can be surgically implanted safely. We also want to find out if the implanted urethra helps improve urinating. The new urethral segment will be created using cells from your bladder, which are the same cells that make up your urethra.
Need volunteers diagnosed with recurrent urethral strictures of 2-6 cm in length. Stricture returned after having standard treatment. Taking part in this study will last 3 years following the surgery to implant your new urethra.
